BangZilla release Wave Theory

Creates melodies from wavetables

BangZilla is the new plug-in division of The Audio Programmer, and their debut offering comes in the form of Wave Theory, a MIDI plug-in that generates melodic lines based on the shape of an imported waveform.

Developed alongside UK-based instrument maker Boxed Ear, Wave Theory generates evolving lines that remain locked to the user's key and tempo, and can be routed to any hardware or software synth. Getting started is as simple as loading a waveform, picking a key and scale and routing it to an instrument. A built-in selection of wavetables are provided, and also allows users to import their own. The plug-in is equipped with four sequencer lanes, each of which can be assigned its own length and speed settings, and includes an set of controls that are designed to encourage users to experiment with note probability, timing and so on.

Compatibility Wave Theory is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or later, and Macs running macOS 11 and above. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.
