Boasts improved A-D & D-A specs
RME's flagship converter and headphone amp has just been treated to an upgrade that introduces redesigned converter circuitry.
The ADI-2/4 Pro EX boasts improved signal-to-noise and THD+N measurements for both its A-D and D-A stages, while RME's SteadyClock EX technology delivers an accuracy of 1ppm. A clock trim function allows users to fine-tune the master clock in increments of 0.1ppm, and the unit is capable of running at sample rates of up to 768kHz. As before, a pair of headphone amps are present, and features RME's True Balanced Mode for compatibility with four-cable headphones - a Pentaconn connector is provided along with dual quarter-inch TRS sockets.
Thanks to onboard DSP, the new arrival also offers the following functions:
Dual five-band EQ for independent left and right correction.
RIAA equalisation available in Line mode.
Crossfeed speaker simulation for headphone listening.
Mid-Side processing.
Selectable D-A filters.
Loudness and stereo-width adjustment.
