Neve unveil the Elements range & 8424E console

Company launch new digitally controlled analogue hardware

Neve have just entered the world of digitally controlled analogue in style with not one, but four significant new products. The first three occupy the new Neve Elements range, a set of processors that each house eight channels of the company's praised EQ and dynamics circuitry, while the forth delivers a new and improved version of their 8424 console that boasts complete storage and recall capabilities thanks to integration with the new Elements family.

Neve Elements The new line-up comprises three units: the Elements 88R EQ, Elements 88R Dynamics and Elements 1084 EQ. As their names suggest, the first two are based on Neve's flagship 88R console, and bring together eight channels of its four-band EQ along with its channel compressor, limiter, gate and expander circuitry; the Elements 1084 EQ then houses eight channels of the inductor-based three-band EQ found in the Sound City 8028 console. All three come housed in a 2U rackmount chassis, and can be controlled remotely from a DAW plug-in or desktop application.

Three distinct standalone analogue processors: 88R EQ, 88R Dynamics, 1084 EQ.

Each unit features eight processors in a compact, 2U, 19-inch rack format for simple studio integration.

D-Sub connections for all I/O provide convenient studio integration, connecting directly to analogue consoles, interfaces or patchbays.

Ethernet communication architecture allows for simple connection of any Element to any studio network.

Every Element unit includes an insert send and return connection with digital control over insert signal-flow positioning.

Standalone Element Control application provides total control of every Element in the ecosystem - compatible with Windows and macOS;

VST3, AU and AAX DAW plug-in delivers instant session reset and automation of Neve analogue processing - compatible with all modern DAWs;

Custom GUI options which can be optimised to any workflow, displaying only what needs to be seen at any time via single, multiple or grouping window options;

Any number of individual Element processors of the same type can be grouped together allowing for total control over large groups of instruments;

Comprehensive 64-step undo system allows for multiple steps of control reset, ideal for mix revisions or rectifying mistakes;

Snapshot system stores and recalls all Elements systems (archived to the computer or offline) providing peace of mind that all projects are safe.

8424E Console

The new arrivals have been announced alongside the 8424E, a new and improved version of the 8424 console that offers direct integration with the Neve Elements line-up. Built entirely in the UK by Neve's renowned engineering team, the 8424E boasts a Marinair transformer-coupled mix bus derived from the company's 80-series consoles, and offers 24 channels (with up to 48 inputs available at mixdown) and four mono groups, and offers full recall of all settings.

Element ergonomic remote control via four touch-sensitive encoders with LED halo display;

Every Element in the studio can be remotely controlled from the E-Controller.

Dual mono/stereo digitally controlled 500 series VCA compressor - ideal for mix bus, group, 1073 or DI processing integrated via the 8424's Smart Routing capability.

Element Upstand Screen: Key visual feedback of all analogue parameters.

2400/720p Horizontal touchscreen display optimised for Neve Elements app.

Complete Element Integration: Console surface controls are reconfigured to provide complete command over all individual Element processors in the studio.

Intelligent Insert Matrix: Connected Elements include insert send and returns with digital signal path control, allowing for cascading of multiple Element units to single console channels, or expanding the 8424's insert connections to studio outboard gear or patchbays.

Those who already own an existing 8424 can upgrade their console to an 8424E by adding an E-Controller and Elements units. More information about the process can be obtained via official Neve dealers.
