ADDAC System expand the Four String Series

Eurorack string range gains three new modules

ADDAC System have just announced the launch of three new modules for their innovative Four Strings Series, a system that makes it possible to integrate physical strings with Eurorack modular rigs.

The first two modules, the ADDAC128 Frets and ADDAC128M Microtonal Frets allow users to position frets anywhere in their system's frame, and offer a choice of either standard straight or microtonal frets. The company say that a tuner will be required to ensure the modules are correctly placed, and both versions come equipped with height-adjustment screws.

Next up is the ADDAC129 Resonator, which as its name suggests, allows the Four String Series to function as a physical resonator. It consists of a vibration speaker that slides into the bridge end lever and transfers sound through the strings, which is then captured by a pickup. The speaker is powered by a small mono amplifier that accepts any Eurorack and line-level signals, and the module includes a volume control for setting the level of the incoming audio. The input can be fed by the output of the ADDAC121/122 pickup module to create a feedback system, and can also be fed with any external audio, effectively turning the entire system into an audio processor. ADDAC System say that the effect generated will maintain the natural decay of the strings, much like a spring reverb but without the background noise.
