Roland update the TD-07 V-Drums line-up

Two new kit options introduced

Roland's entry-level V-Drum series has just been refreshed, gaining two new kit options that promise the best balance of value and playability in their class. The TD-07DMK2 and TD-07KV2 kits are said to deliver an exceptional drumming experience for beginners, dedicated students and returning players alike, with standout features including upgraded pads, enhanced practise tools and hardware and a simplified setup process that greatly reduces the time it takes for users to get up and running.

The TD-07DMK2 is the most affordable kit in the updated TD-07 series, offering a five-piece configuration with smaller pads that is ideal for smaller spaces; an additional cymbal arm is included, allowing users to upgrade the kit with a second crash cymbal at a later date. The five-piece TD-07KV2 then boasts larger pads and two crash cymbals as standard. Both include snare and tom pads from the V-Drums 3 Series, which offer an acoustic-like feel thanks to Roland's dual-mesh heads, and a freestanding KD-10 kick pad that'll accept single or double pedals.

Both kits' racks come with many of their components pre-installed, making them quick and easy to set up, and feature a wider centre pipe compared to previous models, allowing users to upgrade to the KDQ-8 kick pad from the V-Drums Quiet Design range. As for the brains of the system, both of the new arrivals are paired with the TD-07 module. A wide variety of sounds are present, and in-depth editing tools make it possible to personalise sounds and save custom kits. Bluetooth connectivity is built in, allowing drummers to play along with songs on their phone and work with wireless audio and MIDI data in supported music apps.

Pricing & Availability The Roland TD-07DMK2 and TD-07KV2 V-Drums kits will be available in October 2026, priced at $899.99 and $1099.99 respectively.
