Yamaha CK76 joins stage piano range

New 76-key model joins the CK61 and CK88

Yamaha have added a third model to their CK range of portable stage keyboards with the CK76. This brings a 76-key option to a line-up that already comprises the compact CK61 and the piano-style CK88, a duo which both impressed in our review in SOS January 2024 - read it here. The new model retains the series' combination of piano, organ and synth sounds, direct-access controls and portable design.

The CK range draws on sounds from Yamaha's CP stage pianos and YC organ keyboards, bringing acoustic and electric pianos together with organ, strings, brass and synth sounds. Its performance-focused interface puts key parameters within reach, including physical drawbars for organ sounds, filter and envelope controls for synths, and dedicated effects controls. The instruments can also layer and split sounds for live performance.

The CK76 uses a semi-weighted FSB key action, like the CK61, rather than the CK88's Graded Hammer Standard mechanism. Yamaha say the 76-key version has greater initial resistance and more key travel than the compact CK61, with the action intended to best suit players working across organ, synth and electric piano parts. Built-in speakers, battery operation and Bluetooth audio are retained, alongside MIDI In and Out, pedal connections and USB audio functionality.

Yamaha have also released CK OS V2.0, a free firmware update for owners of the CK61, CK88 and new CK76. It adds three electronic piano sounds, 16 new Live Sets and further advanced options for splitting and layering sounds across the keyboard.
