Celemony Tonalic gains additional Paul Kleber upright bass

New parts aimed at hip-hop and pop productions

The latest update to Celemony's innovative virtual session musician expands the collection of built-in instruments with some new upright bass content played by Paul Kleber, a classically trained player who has adapted his style to suit a range of jazz, pop and electronic music.

A fixture of Berlins jazz scene since the mid-1990s, performing with Jazzanova Live and the Moka Efti Orchestra among others, Kleber has worked with artists such as Emil ana Torrini, Fink, Dee Dee Bridgewater and Nina Hagen. Celemony say that his timing makes him as much a groove player as a jazz player, and that his lines carry the harmonic sophistication and fluidity that have made him a sought-after session player.

Paul's work was already a part of Tonalic, with his initial contribution covering a range of jazz, latin, gypsy and early swing styles. By contrast, the latest addition delivers a set of funky, groove-driven lines built for hip-hop and pop productions. They are said to lock in' with Tonalic's selection of drums and percussion, pushing Tonalic into new sonic territory and offering a selection of sounds and styles that were not previously possible. The update also includes a collection of bowed upright bass, providing users with a much wider range of performances to draw inspiration from.

For subscribers and pre-paid license holders, the new performances load automatically at the next program launch with no additional action required. New customers always start with the latest library.
