Control software now available for older interfaces
Focusrite have just announced the launch of an update that extends Control 2 software support their Scarlett 3rd Gen, Clarett+, Clarett USB and select Scarlett 2nd Gen USB audio interfaces - specifically the 6i6, 18i8 and 18i20.
Thanks to the update, users of the newly supported interfaces can benefit from all of the improvements introduced in Control 2. Clearer metering makes it easier to monitor signal levels at a glance, while Iintuitive routing makes setup configuration faster. Multi-interface control makes it possible switch between multiple connected USB interfaces without disconnecting and reconnecting them - the feature is currently available only on macOS. Automatic updates ensure users are always running the most current version, and comprehensive screen reader support has also been designed from the ground up with visually impaired musicians in mind. For Windows users, Focusrite Control 2 maintains driver compatibility automatically, ensuring stable performance without any action required from the user.
Users of the newly supported hardware can download Control 2 now from the Focusrite website. Note that those currently using the original will need to uninstall Control before installing Control 2.
