Limecraft today announces version 2026.6 of its AI-powered production platform, extending capabilities for connected media operations. An AI-assisted approach to story editing is also in development and will be previewable on request at IBC2026.
The release reflects Limecrafts broader strategy for modern media production to connect people, content and existing technology, automate repetitive workflow steps, and then progressively add intelligence where it helps editorial work faster and make more conscious decisions.
Media organisations dont need more tools, says Maarten Verwaest, CRO of Limecraft. The real opportunity is to connect the systems they already use, automate the work that slows people down, and then introduce AI where it genuinely assists the creative process. That is the direction we are demonstrating at IBC.
Connecting the media operation
Media production increasingly spans production teams, post-production facilities, cloud services, editorial systems, storage and external partners. Limecraft provides a secure online platform that connects these different parts of the operation without requiring organisations to replace their existing technology. Version 2026.6 further extends that connected workflow. The Limecraft Mobile App can now bring content directly into a production workspace, while users working across multiple productions gain more precise control over which workspaces generate notifications. The aim is to keep content, people and operational information connected throughout the production process, wherever the work takes place.
Automating repetitive production activity
Once workflows are connected, Limecraft helps by automating routine tasks between acquisition and delivery. This includes activities such as ingest, media preparation, transcription, metadata enrichment, review, approval, and delivery, reducing the number of manual handovers and repetitive actions required to move a production forward. Recent Limecraft releases have progressively expanded these capabilities across studio, factual, reality, and other content production environments. Our aim is not to automate creative essence, Verwaest adds. It is to remove the work around creativity that consumes valuable time without contributing to the story.
Adding intelligence to the editorial process
Limecraft will also give selected visitors at IBC a private preview of its AI-assisted story editing technology. The new concept allows editors and producers to explore large volumes of recorded material by describing in natural language what they are looking for. They can then refine the results conversationally, progressively narrowing the material towards the story they want to tell. Rather than attempting to make editorial decisions autonomously, the AI acts as an assistant, helping users move more quickly from an editorial idea to the relevant source material. This technology is currently in private beta and is not part of the formal 2026.6 release.
See Limecraft at IBC
Limecraft will demonstrate its latest connected and automated production workflows on stand 7.D21 at IBC2026 in Amsterdam, 11-14 September. Visitors can book a meeting with Limecraft to discuss their production requirements and see the platform in action. They will also be able to request a private preview of Limecrafts AI-assisted story editing technology. See https://www.limecraft.com/events/limecraft-ibc-2026/
