InfoComm update brings new NDI Preview, PTZ control, USB audio support and intelligent controls
At InfoComm 2026, Mavis announced a major update to Mavis Studio, its live production app for the iPad, with new features designed to make professional AV production more portable, connected and accessible.
Mavis Studio brings multi-camera switching, media playback, graphics, audio mixing, recording and streaming into a single iPad app. Designed around the portability and processing power of iPad, it gives AV teams, systems integrators, venues, educators, houses of worship and content creators a practical alternative to traditional fixed production systems.
Mavis Main UI
The new update highlights the growing importance of networked video in modern AV environments. Mavis Studio already supports NDI input and output, allowing teams to bring networked cameras and sources into an iPad-based live production environment. The latest version builds on that foundation with NDI Preview mode, giving users five minutes of full access to NDI features so they can test camera sources, tally and PTZ control before subscribing.
For AV teams exploring IP-based and portable production workflows, this makes it easier to confirm network performance, test compatible sources and understand how Mavis Studio fits into an existing production environment.
The update also adds PTZ control for supported NDI cameras.
Operators can now pan, tilt, zoom and focus compatible cameras directly inside Mavis Studio via a smarter control wheel that adapts intelligently to the selected source. The wheel can switch between PTZ control, media control and 3D layout adjustment depending on the selected source, while customisable buttons give operators faster access to common actions. This type of control is especially valuable in AV environments where compact multi-camera setups are increasingly common, but where space, budget or crew size may not justify separate hardware controllers.
Mavis Studio is about giving people the tools of a professional live production system in a format that is far more portable and accessible, said Patrick Holroyd, CEO of Mavis. InfoComm is the right place to show how powerful an iPad-based workflow can be for AV teams. With networked video, camera control, professional audio and flexible layouts all in one app, users can produce polished live content from a single device.
The new version also strengthens the audio side of production. Support for USB audio interfaces allows users to bring professional audio hardware directly into Mavis Studio, with up to four channels routed into the app's integrated audio desk. The same interface can also be used for headphone monitoring, making it easier to manage live sound and check sources without adding complexity to the setup.
Creative control has also been expanded through new 3D layouts, allowing operators to create more dynamic compositions for events, interviews, presentations, and branded productions. Layers can be positioned and angled in 3D space, making it easier to build richer visual treatments without relying on a separate graphics system.
Together, these updates reflect the broader direction of Mavis Studio: a professional live production environment designed around mobility, touch operation, and connected AV workflows. Across venues, education spaces, corporate environments, houses of worship and live events, Mavis Studio gives teams a compact way to create polished live productions from a single iPad, bringing together the core tools of a professional production system in a more portable and accessible form.

Visitors to InfoComm can see the latest version of Mavis Studio on the NDI stand in Central Hall C7572.
The Mavis Studio app is a free download available from the App Store. The free version applies a watermark on all outputs, which can be removed for $24.99 per month or $79.99 per year. To remove the watermark and activate NDI costs $39.99 per month or $129.99 per year.
