Get ready for the brand-new anime series Ranma1/2, streaming worldwide on Netflix starting October 5 PT with new episodes every week. The newly released key art and trailer feature the beloved characters and offer a sneak peek into the voice cast.

Ranma1/2, created by renowned manga artist Rumiko Takahashi (Inuyasha, Urusei Yatsura), follows the comedic adventures of a young martial artist named Ranma Saotome as he navigates teenage life and romances - but it's complicated he transforms into a girl when splashed with cold water and reverts to a boy with hot water!

The fresh adaptation of the timeless classic is produced by MAPPA and directed by Konosuke Uda (ONE PIECE, DAYS). Kimiko Ueno (Delicious in Dungeon, Uchitama?! Have You Seen My Tama?) serves as the series composer, and Hiromi Taniguchi (Jellyfish Restaurant, Punch Line) is the character designer.

Additionally, the star-studded Japanese voice cast has been announced. The three lead voice actors, who are returning to their roles from the 1989 anime adaptation, share their excitement:

Kappei Yamaguchi as Ranma Saotome: Wow! To perform Ranma1/2 again with this incredible cast is a dream come true! My utmost gratitude to the fans and staff for this opportunity. Ranma is my roots, and I will cherish every moment of playing this role.

Megumi Hayashibara as female Ranma: Voicing Ranma 35 years ago was initially a challenge, but it became a rewarding experience as fans embraced my performance. Today, I'm excited to bring Ranma to life again in this new adaptation. Bring it on!

Noriko Hidaka as Akane Tendo: Participating in Ranma1/2 as Akane once again is a joy, especially in my 40th year as a voice actress. Im thrilled to convey the charm of the original series to both longtime fans and new viewers.

About Ranma1/2

Ranma Saotome and Akane Tendo of Tendo Dojo are betrothed by their parents. But Ranma faces a unique problem Ever since he fell into the cursed springs of Jusenkyo while training in China, his body has acquired the peculiar trait of transforming into a girl when doused with cold water and reverting to a boy with hot water. Get ready for the slapstick, action-packed rom-com featuring Ranma, Akane, and a vibrant cast of unique characters!
