Ex-Husband, Current Husband, One Wild Rescue: Korean Action Comedy Husbands in Action' Premieres June 19

Netflix has set June 19 as the global premiere date for the action-comedy film Husbands in Action and unveiled its teaser trailer and poster. Built around the hilarious premise of an ex-husband and current husband forced to team up, the film offers a fun, easy watch for audiences looking for action with plenty of laughs.

The teaser trailer introduces narcotics detective Choong-sik (Jin Sun-kyu) and Min-seok (Gong Myoung), the current husband of Choong-sik's ex-wife, Si-nae (Kang Hanna). A tense ego battle kicks off when the two men see each other at their daughter's school event, their rivalry as dad and step-dad, ex-husband and current husband on full display. But the tone shifts when they learn that Si-nae and their daughter have been abducted. Suddenly, these two men who can barely stand each other are forced into an unlikely partnership to save the people they both love most.

As the teaser cuts through the high-stakes rescue mission, viewers see the ex-husband and current husband bickering, stumbling and fighting their way through danger. The action is shot with a distinctly comic tone, using timing and character reactions to keep the mood light even as the stakes rise. Their mismatched energy drives the humor: one a seasoned, no-nonsense detective, the other younger and equally determined to save the day.

Husbands in Action brings together a crowd-pleasing cast:

Jin Sun-kyu (Aema, Space Sweepers) plays Choong-sik, an ex-husband and narcotics detective whose job has already complicated his personal life - now pushed into the most personal case of his career when his ex-wife and daughter are kidnapped.

Gong Myoung (Love Untangled, Mercy for None) plays Min-seok, the young, handsome current husband and veterinarian whose easy charm contrasts with Choong-sik's more rough edged attitude as the two are forced to team up.

Kim Ji-suk (When the Camellia Blooms) plays Do-jun, the new drug gang boss at the center of the ransom demand.

Yoon Kyung-ho (The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call) plays Yong-gang, an old drug gang leader who joins the chase seeking to eliminate Do-jun and redeem his own former glory.

Kang Hanna (Cashero, Better Late than Single) plays Si-nae, at once Choong-sik's strong ex-wife and Min-seok's current loving wife, whose abduction pulls both husbands into a reckless rescue mission.

Lee Da-hee (Single's Inferno) plays Hye-ran, Do-jun's wife and the calculating brain of the gang, who demands her husband back in exchange for Si-nae and her daughter.

Jeon So-min (Running Man) plays A-ra, a journalist who likes Choong-sik, adding another layer to the messy, often hilarious dynamic around the two husbands in action.

Directed by Park Gyu-tae - a long-standing comedy creator who began his career as a comedy writer and most recently directed the hit film 6/45 - Husbands in Action blends intriguing character comedy with energetic set pieces, all anchored by the chemistry of its cast.

Husbands in Action premieres June 19, only on Netflix.
