Berlin, February 1, 2023 - It's cold, winter feels eternal and many of us are yearning for a sense of happiness, and to feel the sunshine again - so why not just pack your suitcase and dare yourself to start over?

From March 8, International Women's Day, Netflix has just the film for everyone who dreams of getting off the hamster-wheel of everyday chores and tasks in the heartwarming RomCom Faraway, we follow 49-year-old Zeynep, who has Croatian-Turkish roots, on her turbulent and entertaining search for her own happiness. It's a journey which leads her away from her unfaithful husband, demanding father and equally irritating teen daughter in Munich, drawing her to the wildly romantic Croatian isle of Solta and, in the end, back to herself and her roots.

Based on the screenplay by Jane Ainscough (I'm Off Then), Faraway is a movie made by women, for women, with the captivating Naomi Krauss (The International, Jorinde & Joringel, The Invisibles) in the lead role. Against an enchanting backdrop, the story is brought to life by director Vanessa Jopp (The Space Between the Lines, Midlife Crisis, Messy Christmas), cinematographer Eva Katharina B hler and producer Viola J ger (Olga Film).

About Faraway

Zeynep Altin (Naomi Krauss) is at the end of her tether. She's over-worked and pushed around by her husband, daughter and aging father. Her mother's death and her funeral, which nearly ends in total disaster, is the last straw for Zeynep - she leaves Munich and escapes to an island in Croatia. In the house her mother bought secretly years ago, and gifted to her in her will, she hopes to find peace, freedom and herself. If only the former owner, Josip, an islander through and through, wasn't still living on the same property
