Netflix Announces New Comedy Series Football Parents

Today, Netflix has started the production of the new Dutch Netflix series Football Parents (Voetbalouders). The comedy series, written and directed by Ilse Warringa and produced by Hollands Licht, offers viewers a hilarious look at how a group of overenthusiastic parents tend to interfere with the football performances of their young children on the field. In addition to Ilse Warringa, the show features Eva van Gessel, Mariana Aparicio, Michiel Nooter, Edwin Jonker, Bas Hoeflaak, Guido Pollemans, Leonoor Koster, Nyncke Beekhuyzen, Arnoud Bos, Gurkan K ksent rk, Evrim Akyigit, Rian Gerritsen, Steef Cuijpers and Ren van t Hof. Football Parents is expected to be available on Netflix in 2025.

Ilse Warringa: "For years, Ive been spending my weekends on the sidelines, cheering for my two football-playing children. A few years ago, when they asked me to stop cheering and shouting, I realized that that was the beginning of a new comedy series. I am incredibly excited to transform my experiences as a football mom into a relatable and humorous show, because the antics of parents on the sidelines are best met with laughter."

About Football Parents

Football Parents is a comedy series that revolves around a group of overbearing parents who shamelessly meddle in their childrens amateur football careers. We are introduced to this world through Lillian and her son Levi, who is new to the team. Lillian quickly realizes she wants to escape from this quirky group of parents, especially from Marenka, who is the last person you want to deal with on a Saturday morning. However, Levi wants to stay and even forms a friendship with Vito, the most eccentric kid of all, who happens to be Marenkas son.
