The love story of lex and Bruno comes to Netflix on December 7th
Netflix unveiled today the official poster and the date announcement of Smiley, the adaptation of Guillem Clua's play, which premieres worldwide on December 7 and tells the love story of Alex and Bruno.
The cast of Smiley is headed by Miki Esparb (The Innocent, Kings of the Night), Carlos Cuevas (Someone Has to Die, Merl ), Pep n Nieto (30 coins,Pacos Men), Meritxell Calvo (To Love is Forever, Pulsations), Giannina Fruttero (La jaur a, Ema), Eduardo Lloveras (Intimacy, The one), Ruth Llopis (Mirage, Valeria) y Ramon Pujol (Blind Date, The Story of a Murderer ).
In Smiley, Alex (Carlos Cuevas) has just fallen out of love. He had his hopes up with a guy who, after a few weeks, has given him a textbook ghosting. And that doesnt sit well with him. He picks up the phone and sets out to ask for explanations with a voice message that will have the most unexpected consequences... because he ends up sending it by mistake to Bruno (Miki Esparb ), whom he doesnt know at all. This innocent first mistake is the first in a chain of events that will change lex and Brunos lives forever.
"Smiley is the greatest love story I have ever experienced. And as is often the case with love stories, it started small and has grown over the years into something that has changed my life. In all this time Smiley has touched the souls of thousands of people in theatres all over the world and I am very happy that it can continue to do so on a platform as proud of diversity as Netflix. Not only because Alex and Brunos story will reach millions more people, but also because they will be accompanied by a whole new universe of LGTBI love stories. Thats why I say Smiley is my biggest love story. And the best thing is that it has only just begun", said Guillem Clua, author and showrunner of Smiley.
