#QueM xicoSeVea: Doubling our bet on Mexican CinemaPlay Video

Cinema has always been a mirror of who we are. It is one of the ways we weave our cultural narrative and discover the diversity of our countries and stories. For this reason, last year we launched #QueM xicoSeVea, an invitation to promote and celebrate Mexican cinema.

Because of the incredible response, both from movie lovers and from creators and artists in the industry, we decided to double our bet. And, therefore, I am proud to announce that we are producing more films in a variety of genres and, particularly, with more diversity in our sights - working hand in hand with male and female directors, as well as new talent, all of them Mexican, to continue promoting our national talent that makes us feel such pride. Among other films, today we would like to present the following projects in which we are currently working:

We continue to foster Mexican literature adaptations. Currently in post-production, No voy a pedirle a nadie que me crea, the new film by Fernando Fr as (with whom we collaborated on the multiple award-winning Im No Longer Here), is based on the namesake novel by Juan Pablo Villalobos. Filmed in Mexico and Spain, it stars Dar o Yazbek, Natalia Solian, Alexis Ayala and Anna Castillo, and is produced by Exile Content and Zeta Studios. This adaptation adds on to previous announcements of Temporada de huracanes, also in post-production, and Pedro P ramo. And by the way, I am thrilled to inform you that renowned cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto will be directing the adaptation of Pedro P ramo.

El ltimo vag n, a family movie based on the namesake novel by ngeles Do ate, directed by multiple award-winning director Ernesto Contreras (P rpados azules, Sue o en otro idioma), with performances by Adriana Barraza and Memo Villegas.

Bah a colorada, this comedy produced by M nica Lozano (Loves a Bitch, Instructions Not Included, Dont Blame the Kid), is the directorial debut of Ricardo Castro, a graduate of the CCC Film Training Center.

Invitaci n a un asesinato, a witty, black humor thriller based on the novel by Carmen Posadas, directed by JM Cravioto (Diablero, Monarca, Mexican Gangster) and produced by Erik Barmack (Dark, The Rain) and Jimena Rodr guez (3 idiotas, El vestido de la novia). Maribel Verd , Regina Bland n, Manolo Cardona, Aar n D az, Stephanie Cayo and Jos Mar a de Tavira will star in this film.

Fuga de reinas, a comedy written by and starring Martha Higareda about four friends in different stages of their lives who decide to take a trip together. Produced by Martha Higareda, Miri Higareda and Alexis Fridman, it is directed by Jorge Macaya.

La gran seducci n, a comedy directed by Celso Garc a (The Thin Yellow Line) and starring Memo Villegas, Yalitza Aparicio and Pierre Louis. This film will be produced by Nicol s Celis, with whom we collaborated on Roma and Prayers for the Stolen.

In addition to the above, we previously announced three extraordinary productions that are now a reality and that I am deeply excited for. With these three titles we demonstrate with clear and forceful facts our commitment:

Que Viva M xico! still

Que viva M xico!: Directed, produced and co-written by Luis Estrada, director of Herod's Law, El Infierno and The Perfect Dictatorship; starring Dami n Alc zar, Alfonso Herrera, Joaqu n Cos o, Ana de la Reguera, Ana Mart n and Angelina Pel ez, among others.

Ruido: Directed and written by Natalia Berist in, produced by Rafael Ley, and starring Julieta Egurrola, Teresa Ruiz and Arturo Berist in, with Nicolasa Ortiz Monasterio.

Bardo asset

And finally, BARDO (False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths) by five-time Academy Award Winner Alejandro G. I rritu, soon to premiere globally at the Venice International Film Festival, and arriving in our country at a later date. BARDO is I rritu's first movie filmed in Mexico since 2000's Amores Perros and stars Daniel Gimenez Cacho, Griselda Siciliani, Ximena Lamadrid, and Iker Solano; production design by Academy Award winner, Mexican designer Eugenio Caballero (Roma, Pan's Labyrinth) and costume design by Anna Terrazas (The Deuce, Roma).

Every day we work to fulfill our commitment to create, promote and celebrate Mexican cinema. This is only the beginning. And we want to let Mexico be seen (#Qu M xicoSeVea) through our unique and globally renowned cinema.
