ALAMEDA, USA July 29, 2026 Clear-Com announced that Central Christian Church has transformed communication across its live production operations by implementing Clear-Com's LQ Series IP interfaces, Gen-IC Virtual Intercom, Agent-IC mobile app and Station-IC desktop client. The configuration lets production staff and volunteers across multiple campuses and remote team members hundreds of miles away collaborate in real time as though they were working side by side.
Based in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Central Christian Church produces four live worship services each weekend that are streamed to Facebook, YouTube, the church s online campus, a local ABC affiliate, and a second campus in Carbondale, Illinois. Supporting these productions is a volunteer team led by Live Video Director Steve Dillingham, who oversees live switching, graphics, and video production.
As the church expanded its production capabilities, maintaining reliable communication with remote personnel became increasingly challenging. Traditional methods, including phone calls and video conferencing, created unnecessary complexity and delays during rehearsals and live services.
"Our primary challenge was collaborating with our remote lighting director after he relocated to South Carolina," said Steve Dillingham, Live Video Director at Central Christian Church. "Before Clear-Com, we relied on a mix of phone calls, video chats and separate audio feeds. Now he s on the intercom system with zero friction, just as if he were standing in the control room. It s been a complete game changer."
Central Christian Church s communications infrastructure combines an existing Clear-Com base station and wireless camera communications with an LQ-2W2 interface connected to Gen-IC. The church s remote lighting director communicates through Agent-IC, while the Carbondale campus uses Station-IC to connect directly into the same intercom environment. The integrated workflow enables production teams across locations to coordinate lighting, video, audio, stage management and live sermon broadcasts without noticeable latency.
The system has also allowed experienced volunteers to continue serving remotely. After relocating, the church s lighting director remained fully engaged in productions, while his wife transitioned into a remote Assistant Director role, preserving decades of production experience within the ministry.
