NEP Adds IP-Based Flypack Production Kits in the U.S.

NEP Americas, part of NEP Group, has expanded its remote production offering with new IP-based flypack production kits deployed from the U.S. and available to customers worldwide.

The kits run on NEP's TFC broadcast control system and can work as independent systems, combine with each other, or pair with any NEP dynamic facility. They support 1080p, HDR and 4K. NEP says the flypacks offer the same capabilities as its mobile units and are intended for remote productions where bringing a full mobile unit onsite is impractical. They were used by host broadcasters at two international sporting events this summer.

The kits can incorporate NEP Platform, NEP's software application ecosystem. At a major international sporting event in August, the flypacks used NEP Platform to deploy Riedel's SimplyLive for vision mixing, replay and multiviewing alongside hardware-based tools. TFC lets operators and engineers manage IT and network environments from a single system. The flypacks also connect to NEP's Dallas Datacenter, South Florida Production Hub and global hubs.

We continue to look for new ways to give our customers flexible resources that adapt to the needs of their productions, and these new flypack systems are a great example of this, says Howie Rosenthal, Chief Commercial Officer, NEP Americas. They were tested and proven on two of the largest international sporting events this summer, helping host broadcasters reach audiences in the millions. Now, they're available to be deployed on live productions of every size and scale, whether it's an everyday regional production or another global event. We're excited to continue to expand the remote production capabilities we're providing to our partners in the Americas and beyond.

Our ability to combine these systems, pair them with other NEP facilities, and easily incorporate added software capabilities through NEP Platform, gives us new ways to provide dynamic, forward-looking solutions that can adapt to meet the needs of any production, says Rosenthal.
