Applications Open for Skip Ahead 11 19 March 2026

Screen Australia and YouTube Australia have opened applications for Skip Ahead 11. For over a decade, the joint Skip Ahead initiative has supported Australian YouTube creators to develop storytelling skills, grow creative ambitions and elevate production values.
Since 2014, Skip Ahead has supported 47 teams with over $5.8 million, helping new generations of online/direct-to-audience storytellers to develop professionally, build sustainable careers and enhance their creative output. Past recipients include Macfarlane Bros for The Worst That Could Happen (1.04M subscribers), Never Too Small for Small Footprint Documentary Series (3.25M subscribers), Rainbow Bop for The Rainbow Bop Show (47.7K subscribers), Lyanna Kea for Life of Kea (5.04M subscribers) and Danny and Michael Philippou for RackaRacka: Live (6.93M subscribers).
Skip Ahead 11 is open to both documentary and scripted narrative projects from Australian content creators. Applications are open to content creators who meet at least one of the following criteria:
a current YouTube channel with at least 25,000 subscribers
a maximum of two current YouTube channels with a combined subscriber base of 40,000
a YouTube video that has amassed a minimum of 1 million views with a subscriber base of at least 10,000.
Successful applicants will participate in a three-day workshop taking place in Sydney and receive ongoing skills and development support, in addition to production funding up to $130,000 for their project. For teams based outside of Greater Sydney, travel and accommodation support will be provided for up to three team members per project from within Australia.
