Boston Conservatory Presents Celebrated Musical Satire Urinetown Performances for this Center Stage production will take place at Boston Conservatory Theater from April 9 to 12.

Boston Conservatory at Berklee's spring Center Stage season continues with Urinetown, the hilarious and razor-sharp satire of corporate greed, social irresponsibility, and musical theater itself. Performances will take place Thursday, April 9 through Saturday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m., with matinees on Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12 at 2 p.m. at Boston Conservatory Theater.
In a dystopian city plagued by drought, private toilets are outlawed and citizens must pay to use public amenities controlled by a powerful corporation. When a humble everyman sparks a revolution against the system, chaos and hilarity ensue as the boundaries between hero and villain blur.
Urinetown features music and lyrics by the Tony Award-winning team of Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis, with a book by Kotis. Boston Conservatory at Berklee's Center Stage production will be directed by associate professor De'Lon Grant, with music direction by accompanist Bethany Aiken and choreography by assistant professor Ramone Owens. After an acclaimed off-Broadway premiere and celebrated Broadway run, this uproarious musical has become a modern classic, delighting audiences with its bold wit, unforgettable score, and subversive storytelling that challenges the conventions of the genre.
One of the funniest, sharpest musicals in recent history, Urinetown remains highly emblematic of the times we live in, said Grant. This production will be equal parts funny and poignant, with outstanding performances from our talented Boston Conservatory at Berklee musical theater students. It certainly will be a show that will stay with the audience long after the curtain closes.
Urinetown will take place at Boston Conservatory Theater, located at 31 Hemenway Street in Boston, from Thursday, April 9 through Saturday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $31.50 to $48.50, and can be purchased online.
