Limecraft today announces the release of Limecraft 2026.2, the second platform update in its 2026 release cycle. Limecraft is an AI-powered production platform that enables content creators to store, manage and share projects from initial rushes to thousands of masters. Limecraft workspaces can be easily customised for specific formats such as scripted TV, documentaries and non-scripted entertainment, with AI services at the core.

Limecraft 2026.2 introduces targeted improvements that further reduce manual effort in editorial and post-production workflows. The focus of the release is twofold: simplifying complex technical processes through better user control, and improving the quality of automated outputs through more advanced AI assistance.

At the centre of this update is a major enhancement to AAF export which becomes fully template-based, allowing users to define, manage and reuse export configurations without requiring engineering support. Templates can be created at the workspace level and applied at export time, ensuring consistent and predictable results across projects and teams. This enables editorial workflows to be standardised, particularly in high-volume production environments such as continuing drama and reality formats where large volumes of material need to be prepared quickly and reliably for editing.

Through these templates, users can define clip colours based on metadata, transfer comments and transcripts as native markers into Avid, and structure sequences across multiple timelines. By shifting AAF export from a technical configuration step to a reusable workflow asset, Limecraft reduces complexity while increasing control over editorial outcomes.

In parallel, Limecraft 2026.2 introduces improvements to automatic speech recognition, aimed at increasing the usability of transcripts for professional workflows such as subtitling and localisation. New controls include disfluency filtering which removes hesitations and repetitions, and enhanced speaker diarisation through adjustable speaker sensitivity which enables more accurate segmentation in multi-speaker scenarios.

These improvements build on Limecraft's already highly accurate verbatim transcription, enhanced through custom dictionaries optimised for word error rate and overall user experience. The update also now introduces AI-assisted post-editing capabilities, supporting users in refining transcripts more efficiently and reducing the need for manual correction.

Alongside these headline features, Limecraft 2026.2 adds a range of smaller enhancements across the platform. These include refinements to delivery workflows, more flexible configuration of custom status filters, improved access control in workflows, and increased robustness in Limecraft Edge during temporary licensing interruptions.
