South African Pride Month is in full swing and the LGBTQI community is celebrating the occasion in several colourful ways. To mark the month, we have compiled a list of five queer movies to watch!

1. THEY/THEM' They/Them is a horror film that follows a group of teenagers who attend a conversion camp. The film, led by Kevin Bacon, features a diverse LGBTQI cast including a lesbian, a bisexual camper and a gay jock. Director John Logan described They/Them as a queer empowerment story .

2. MOONLIGHT' Directed by Barry Jenkins, Moonlight is a coming-of-age film that explores the life of a man who grew up poor, black and gay in a Miami neighbourhood. Chiron is trying to find his purpose in life as a gay man. Moonlight won the Best Picture award at the Oscars in 2017.

3. CALL ME BY YOUR NAME' Any film with heartthrob Timoth e Chalamet is guaranteed to be a hit! Call Me By Your Name explores the relationship between a 17-year-old boy and his father's associate. The queer film is set in 1983 in northern Italy.

4. RAFIKI' Rafiki is a Kenyan film that follows two women who grow closer together but due to the laws in the country, they are faced with several challenges. The 2018 film directed by Wanuri Kahiu caused a massive stir in Kenya and the film was banned by the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB).

5. INXEBA' Set in the mountains of Eastern Cape, South African film Inxeba follows Xolani (Nakhane) who joins a group for men to initiate teenagers into manhood . Throughout the film, an initiate discovers Xolani's secret, a forbidden love
