RT is home to the top ten radio programmes in the country
28.3% market share with almost 2 million people listening every week
Gains for Kieran Cuddihy's Liveline, Brendan O'Connor and Sunday with Miriam on RT Radio 1
RT Radio 1 remains Ireland's number one radio station with more than 1.3 million listeners every week and three shows with over 400,000 listeners
Gains for 2FM Breakfast with Carl, Roz & Aisling, the number one programme for 15 - 34-year-olds nationally
RT lyric fm continues to deliver an all-time-high market share of 3.5%
Following the launch of the hugely well-received RT Listen app, and almost a year on from the launch of new schedules on RT Radio 1 and 2FM, the latest JNLR listenership figures show more listeners are tuning in to RT Radio 1 with gains on weekly and daily reach - and steady audiences on 2FM and RT lyric fm.
There have been notable gains across all the RT schedules. The latest figures are a strong endorsement of the new RT Radio 1 schedule, with share stable at 19.3%. There have been robust Book on Book (BoB) gains across the day for Morning Ireland, Liveline, Inside Sport, Arena and The John Creedon Show. There have been strong gains for RT Radio 1 across weekends, with The Business, Brendan O'Connor on Saturday, Sunday Miscellany and Sunday with Miriam delivering increased audiences.
RT lyric fm continues to win listeners with a market share of 3.5%. There have been significant gains for Marty in the Morning, Sunday Afternoon with Simon Delaney and The Hamilton Scores with George Hamilton.
2FM remains stable with a 4.8% share. There have been significant gains for 2FM Breakfast with Carl, Roz and Aisling and new listeners for 2FM Afternoons with Demi & Mikey and 2FM New Music Show with Beta Da Silva.
Speaking on the latest figures, Patricia Monahan, Director of Audio, RT said: This is a very encouraging set of results across the portfolio and particularly for RT Radio 1. Less than a year since the launch of the new schedule it's fantastic to see that listeners are engaging with new voices and shows across the day. It's particularly heartening to see significant growth for the new additions to the schedule Kieran Cuddihy on Liveline and Jacqui Hurley and Marie Crowe on Inside Sport. All of the teams across RT Radio 1, 2FM, lyric fm and RnaG have been delivering consistently great content for our audiences, and it's excellent to see that rewarded. We are really pleased that so many listeners choose to engage with our stations.
