Actress Louisa Harland voices animated pre-school adventure series MaeBee on RT this midterm break

RT has today announced that MaeBee, a brand-new animated series, will premiere on Monday, 19 October 2026, airing weekdays at 10.30am with a repeat broadcast at 4.20pm on RT KIDSjr. From Monday, all 24 episodes will also be available to stream on RT Player ahead of the upcoming mid-term break.

MaeBee is the story of a young gnome called Mae who brings home a bee called Bee to live with her family as her foster brother. Together, the pair help Mae fill her Book of Big', page by page, with drawings of her daily fun adventures. The series features four generations of the same gnome family.

Made as a co-production between Dublin-based Kavaleer Productions and London-based Karrot Entertainment, the series was made possible with funding by Screen Ireland, Coimisi n na Me n, Government of Ireland, France Television Distribution and the UK Global Screen Fund.

The cast include Louisa Harland (Derry Girls, Hamnet, The Walsh Sisters) and Mathew Baynton (Ghosts, Horrible Histories, Taskmaster) as Mae's parents Ma-Mae and Da-Nono, Ian McElhinney (Game of Thrones, The Fall) and Julia Dearden (Line of Duty, How to get to Heaven from Belfast) as Granda-Bill, and Grand-Mae, whilst Tara Lynne O'Neill (Derry Girls) stars as Ma-Mouse, the head of the scurrying Mouse Train.

Series Producer, Jamie Badminton says: MaeBee is a co-viewing delight that parents and caregivers will enjoy watching just as much as their young gnomes undoubtably will, and the calibre of this cast make for a comedic treat that viewers of all ages will fall in love with.

Series Director Tim O'Sullivan says: It has been an enormous pleasure to work with so many of my favourite actors and comedians on MaeBee, rendering myself directorially starstruck on numerous occasions. Matching voice to the character is such an integral part of the show, many of which we had fantasy cast right from the start. We were thrilled when they agreed to come aboard the Mousetrain and bring so much heart and humour to the Green Garden.

MaeBee premieres on Monday, 19 October, airing weekdays at 10.30am and 4.20pm on RT KIDSjr. All 24 episodes will also be available to stream on RT Player from launch.
