Legendary kwaito musician and member of TKZee, Tokollo Magesh Tshabalala passed away on Monday 15 August at 45 years old. According to a statement, Magesh passed away following an epileptic seizure.

To remember the kwaito star, here are five of the biggest hits he released as a solo artist.

1. KHALA KAHLE' Magesh often branched out from TKZee to release solo music and Khala Kahle is from his album, Longest Time, released in 2007. According to True Love, the 13-track album was his most successful album and Khala Kahle is a feel-good track perfect for the summertime.

2. SGUB'SAM' Although they did release their own music, the TKZee members always supported each other's solo ventures. Magesh's Sgub'Sam featured his close friend and colleague, Zwai Bala. The upbeat single shows off Magesh's amazing rapping skills and Zwai's vocal range.

3. PHEZ KOM HLANGANO' Phez Kom Hlangano is also from the kwaito star's 2007 album, Longest Time. The release was his second solo album following his 2005 album, M s Que M sica (The Lost Tape). Phez Kom Hlangano highlights his lyrical skill.

4. MAGESH' TKZEE's 1998 album, Halloween scored the group four South African Music Awards (SAMAs) the following year. The nine-track album also won them the Best Kwaito Album and the Best Duo/Group awards. Magesh was a stand-out from Halloween.

5. HAPE LE HAPE 2.1 In 2014, SA hip-hop star Khuli Chana released the second remix of his rap hit, Hape Le Hape. Naturally, Chana enlisted two of Mzansi's top musicians for the track, Da L.E.S and Magesh. The kwaito star had the last verse on the song and it was nothing but memorable. Magesh brought a kwaito flair to the single.
