NAB 2026: Quantum to Showcase Tape-Anchored Storage Workflows, Responds to Industry Supply Chain and Power Disruption

Quantum Corp. will exhibit at NAB Show 2026 (Booth N1726), presenting what it calls shockproof workflows - storage architectures designed to address supply chain constraints, rising flash and hard disk costs, and cyber-resilience requirements. The workflows are built around Quantum's ActiveScale object storage platform with integrated cold storage and the Quantum Scalar i7 tape library.

Shift happens, says Hugues Meyrath, CEO, Quantum. It's been a time of extraordinary change for media and content producers worldwide - and threats to business-as-usual' storage and workflow assumptions are here to stay. Storage is unique in the data center because it is the only technology that is both used and consumed, says Marc Staimer, President, Dragon Slayer Consulting. Quantum cites several characteristics of tape storage relevant to current infrastructure pressures: LTO-10 cartridges deliver up to 40 terabytes of native capacity; tape drives in Quantum's Scalar libraries exceed 400 megabytes per second with AES-256 hardware encryption; IEEE research documents a 97% reduction in carbon footprint per terabyte compared to hard disk drives; and tape cartridges in a vault are not accessible via network-based attacks.
