The festival started on the wrong foot yesterday, 24 September and people are hoping today (25 September) will be better. Image via DStv Delicious Festival website.

A number of people flocked to attend day one of DStv's Delicious Festival since the festival took a hiatus following Covid-19.

--

The festival took place at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Midrand, Johannesburg. The organisers of the festival have received negative reviews following last night's event, 24 September.

DSTV DELICIOUS FESTIVAL FAILS ATTENDEES The festival promised attendees good vibes and good food but it seems none of those things were delivered. Attendees lambasted the organisers and told them to do better.

Amongst their complaints, attendees said that they went to a food festival but came back hungry because of the long queues. Others said it took them almost 3 hours to get inside the venue because of the poor organisation.

--

The festival is also said to have run out of tickets and that the VIP section was nothing more than a joke and a waste of their money.

VIP attendees also expressed their disappointment on Twitter after seemingly not enjoying the show despite paying more than R2000 for a ticket.

Tshepi Vundla took to Instagram and said, This excuse of fake tickets is NONSENSE! Don't lie guys! You guys did not plan this event properly. Security did not check tickets from driving into the venue. No one knew what was happening from parking vs drop-off zones. Do better! Hopefully, people will have a better experience tomorrow.

I never tweet so this is how bad this festival was. VIP was a joke subpar food, couldn't see sh*t, VIP behind general admission? WTF People moving furniture as if we're in a warehouse. Management needs to be FIRED. Never again and I paid a LOT chomie, said @JustMeKenna.

The sorriest excuse for a VIP Suite we have ever experienced! The Ambassador Lounge was an absolute complete & utter joke! Badly done @DStv @DeliciousFestSA, said @ZarMamma.

The scariest thing for me is how they let us in without scanning our tickets because the tags ran out. Or checking that we even have tickets. I walked around about an hour without a tag, security wasn t phased #DStvDeliciousFestival#DStvDeliciousFestival2022

Great performance by #BurnaBoy @ #dstvdeliciousfestival but then d nightmarish treatment we were subjected to turned the entire event into a near disaster. Being caught in a gridlock, stampede threatening situations, security and other staff compromising event integrity bribes pic.twitter.com/LbKXYl3z9W

The event planners messed up. After the ticket sold out massively, they would have changed the venue.

One thing we don t understand is that for an artist every stage is important. Just make a blueprint in the heart of people. #dstvdeliciousfestival https://t.co/sQUY7G86zQ

This was the main bar area- @DeliciousFestSA no demarcations, no safety, no ventilation, I watched multiple people get trampled. At one point the bar got pushed forward. I stood for 69 mins just to get a bottle of water. Empty fridges, no ice. Epic fail #dstvdeliciousfestival pic.twitter.com/K8Wsdmqz8k

DELICIOUS FESTIVAL APOLOGISES Seeing all the negative comments on day 1 of the event, DStv fest apologised and blamed the mess as termed by attendees, on fake tickets amongst other things.

Attendees were also reminded that there are four entrances to the festival which can be accessed on their official website.

For day two of the event, attendees are reminded to ensure that they arrive early to ensure that they enjoy the full experience that the festival has to offer.

Pedestrian gates open at 11. #DStvDeliciousFestival2022 Stringent measures have been put in place with SAPS, JMPD & safety and security teams for traffic & entering the venue, the festival said in a tweet.
