When it comes to a Power Conference athletic department building an in-house live broadcast division, few have done it at the level of Virginia Tech.
HokieVision produces hundreds of live events per year and has built a legacy as an elite training ground for students looking to cut their teeth in live sports production. In fact, the group won a 2025 SVG College Sports Media Award for Outstanding Live Game Production in the Collegiate Student Power division for its production of baseball game between the Hokies and Wake Forest.
At the 2025 SVG College Summit, we spoke with Evan Ellis, Senior Director, ACC Network for Virginia Tech Athletics to discuss the highlights from the past academic year and how the division continues to grow its talented student staff.
