Story Highlights
CBS Sports has made a tradition of taking its UEFA Champions League Today studio show on the road in Europe for big-time matches, and it doesn't get any bigger than this weekend's UCL Final between PSG and Inter Milan in Munich. So it's no surprise that CBS Sports host Kate Scott and analysts Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Micah Richards will be pitchside for UEFA Champions League Today on Saturday at Allianz Arena.

It's always nice to be onsite and to present matches from the ground, says UEFA Champions League Today producer Matt Curtis. We don't do it all the time because we want to retain a little bit of its uniqueness, but we're always going to be at Finals.
The onsite studio show is just one part of CBS Sports' 10-hour multiplatform live coverage of the UEFA Champions League Final across the CBS Television Network, CBS Sports Network, Paramount , and CBS Sports Golazo Network. The match will begin at 3 p.m. ET, airing on CBS and streaming live on Paramount ; the Beckham & Friends Live altcast, which will also originate from Allianz Arena and feature special guest Tom Cruise, will stream exclusively on Paramount .
In addition to the UEFA Champions League Today studio crew and Beckham & Friends Live, pitchside reporters Peter Schmeichel, Guillem Balagu , Alesandro Del Piero, and Anita Jones will be delivering news live from Munich. Clive Tyldesley will supply play-by-play, joined by analyst Rob Green onsite in Munich and Christina Unkel as rules analyst.
We started [covering UCL] in 2020 during the heart of COVID, recounts Pete Radovich, VP, production/senior creative director and coordinating producer, soccer coverage, CBS Sports. So, the first two years we did this, there were empty stadiums at first and then limited access. It was like putting a table full of candy in front of a kid and saying, You can't eat any of it.' We got the Champions League, but we couldn't go onsite or have fans there. When [we finally could do that], there was no way we weren't going to be onsite. But we still try to pick our spots.
Saturday will mark CBS Sports' sixth consecutive year covering the UCL Final. During that half decade, the broadcaster has worked hard to create a unique player-friendly atmosphere with its marquee studio show. I think what we've learned over the last five years, as our reputation across the world has grown, is that people become a magnet to us, says Curtis. We were the minority American guys who were just starting out five years ago, but, year by year, we've built that [trust from players].
Now, he continues, we find that players after a game - and sometimes before a game - want to come and talk to us. We create an environment, whether it's in our studio or when we're onsite, that is a comfortable place. If [players] come and talk to us after a game, they're going to be asked good and insightful questions, but they can relax, enjoy themselves, and have a good time. And absolutely that exact narrative will be taken to Munich [this weekend].
In addition to inviting players to the set, CBS's studio coverage will look to bring the culture and ambiance of Munich to the fans at home. We'll have some fun with Germany, Radovich explains. Wherever we are, we lean into where we are and try to pay tribute to the stadium, to the home culture. That'll be part of our coverage as well. It has been an absolute blessing to be able to travel around Europe with this show and do what we do. This is dream stuff for a producer [like me] who grew up with this sport.
Fresh off the boffo opening-weekend global box office of Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, star and producer Tom Cruise will be a guest on Saturday's Beckham & Friends Live, this season's third iteration of the altcast. Beckham and Cruise will watch PSG take on Inter Milan in the final, joined by additional celebrity friends on set. The broadcast will be hosted by Scott and produced by Radovich.
CBS Sports will also dedicate additional shoulder programming surrounding the UEFA Champions League Final. CBS Sports Golazo Network, which has previewed the final across its daily live studio programming all week, will kick off CBS Sports' live coverage on Saturday with a three-hour edition of its flagship show, Morning Footy, at 10:00 a.m. ET, followed by Champions League Matchday at 1:30 p.m. and The Champions Club at 3 p.m. In addition, a soccer-themed episode of CBS Sports' all-women studio show We Need To Talk at 12:30 p.m. on CBS and Paramount will offer match analysis, special guests, and a feature on the youth movement in the NWSL.
