Rob Lewis and Ash Rodriguez Present The Show: A Celebration of 75 Years

Berklees Signature Series continues as celebrated producer and arranger Rob Lewis '94 and media personality, singer, and dancer Ash Rodriguez B.M. '09 present The Show: A Celebration of 75 Years on Thursday, December 3, at 7:30 p.m. EST. The virtual concert will be streamed on Berklee's YouTube channel.

Featuring the inspired works of some of the most diverse and multitalented student creators in the world, this virtual experience will represent the range of creativity at Berklee, from instrumentalists, arrangers, composers, singers, and rappers to DJs, songwriters, visual designers, and dancers. In recent years, Lewis (Christina Aguilera, Toni Braxton, Nickelodeon, MTV/VH1) and Rodriguez (Lana Del Rey, John Legend, Robin Thicke) have returned to the college to help cultivate the institutions next generation of artists and creators.

Its always an honor to be invited back to work with the great talent at Berklee, said Lewis. This installment of The Show was created to reflect the evolution and changes in our industry by devising ways for students to cultivate their skills as visionaries. As they discover the total scope of themselves as artists, performers in The Show have learned the need to be and do all things, especially in regards to the visual representation of themselves.

To say that the show must go on is an understatement-the show must evolve, and, as creators and artists, it is our duty to reflect the times.

The event will take the format of a televised awards show, focusing on the creativity of student talent at Berklee as a celebration of the colleges 75-year history. Works will be unveiled in a virtual experience curated by Lewis and Rodriguez, intertwined with congratulatory remarks by faculty and alumni representing the history of Berklee. Performances will consist of original productions, covers, and songs that speak to the social climate of the world today.

As an alumna of the college, it's exciting to be working with Berklee during such a transformative time in the world and in the music and entertainment industries, said Rodriguez. Curating a virtual experience with the students is a means for all of us to continue to cultivate and feed our creativity, and in doing so we hope to empower these young people to think and create beyond any current limitations. To say that the show must go on' is an understatement-the show must evolve, and, as creators and artists, it is our duty to reflect the times.
