RT is Supporting 20 Arts and Cultural Events all over Ireland this February

27/01/2026

RT Supporting the Arts is delighted to support a dynamic programme of cultural events taking place across Ireland this February. From visual art, film, music, comedy, theatre, dance and literature to nationwide celebrations of creativity, these events reflect the richness and diversity of Ireland's cultural landscape.

Among the highlights this month, RT Supporting the Arts supports Brigit: Dublin City Celebrating Women, a city wide programme marking the cultural, historical and contemporary contributions of women through arts, culture and public events. In Donegal, the Rathmullan Film Festival 2026 presents a community focused programme showcasing Irish and international film. The Limerick Literary Festival takes place from 27th February to 1st March, an established date in Ireland's literary calendar, bringing together Irish and international writers for a programme of readings, discussions and literary events.

Music features strongly across the supported events this month, with support for the Wigmore Series Dublin, presented in partnership with the Royal Irish Academy of Music. The Fingal Chamber Music: International Perspectives Chamber Music Series includes the final concert of the season showcasing world class performers. Support also extends to the Ort s Chamber Music Festival in Cork and the Newry Chamber Music Piano Festival in County Down, as well as the 30th Festival of Youth Orchestras in Dublin, which celebrates the talent and achievement of young orchestral musicians from Ireland and beyond.

RT Supporting the Arts is pleased to support Picasso: From the Studio at the National Gallery of Ireland in Dublin, a major exhibition offering new perspectives on the work and creative process of one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century.

Theatre and performance take centre stage this month with The Dead, offering a thrilling immersive adaptation of Joyce's masterpiece, created by two of Ireland's leading theatre companies, ANU and Landmark, in association with MoLI - the Museum of Literature Ireland. Eureka Day at the Gate Theatre in Dublin is a contemporary theatrical production examining social and political themes through a sharply observed exploration of community, consensus and conflict

Emerging voices are championed through Scene + Heard: The Festival of New Work, which provides a platform for new writing and performance.

In Sligo, the So Funny Sligo Comedy Festival brings together Irish and international comedians for a vibrant programme of live performances. Film is further celebrated through the Dublin International Film Festival, Ireland's principal showcase for cinema and screen storytelling.

Literature and reading are also featured this month, with the Mother Tongues Festival in Dublin celebrating multilingual writing and storytelling. Support extends to Ireland Reads 2026, a nationwide initiative encouraging shared reading, and the Dublin Literary Award 2026 Shortlist Announcement, recognising outstanding international fiction. Contemporary dance is represented through What Next Dance Festival 2026 in Limerick, alongside the Take Off Festival in Cork, which supports emerging dance artists and innovative performances.

RT Supporting the Arts continues to support artists and cultural partners to bring a broad range of creative experiences to audiences across Ireland. Through ongoing support for events nationwide, RT remains committed to championing artistic excellence, fostering creativity and ensuring the arts remain accessible to all throughout the country.

This February, RT Supporting the Arts invites you to immerse yourself in Ireland's vibrant cultural landscape. For more information, rte.ie/culture
