Pulsar-23: 1984 from SOMA Laboratory

Just 84 units to be released in the US

Experimental synthesizer and sound-machine extraordinaires SOMA Laboratory have revealed an upcoming special-edition version of their Pulsar-23 unit that's been created in collaboration with The Midium and the SOMA US division.

The result of a year-long exchange of ideas, the Pulsar-23: 1984 has been created in close collaboration with Noah Jolly, an engineer at SOMA US, marking the first of the company's instruments to feature US design and engineering. The company say that the new edition of the Pulsar-23 carries its own identity, both sonically and visually. It comes equipped with an entirely new Bass Drum architecture that brings some new sounds to the table, along with a reworked Bass section that employs a filter inspired by the legendary Polivoks circuit.

What's New?

New oscillator design that produces an asymmetrically clipped triangle wave that can be overdriven to a square wave using the Drive knob.

An expanded Tune knob range.

OMG pin is now an AC coupled FM input.

New filter for the Bass section based on the Polivoks filter.

Just 84 numbered units of the Pulsar-23: 1984 are being made available in the United States, with more becoming available for Europe and other regions in the near future.
