Mediapro produced the event which brought together a host of dignitaries and famous faces from different fields

Mediapro was responsible for providing audiovisual production services for the Concert for Understanding among Civilisations and Human Rights, which took place last Saturday in the UN building in Geneva. Countries from all over the world broadcast the concert performed by the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, conducted by its co-founder, performing works from W.A. Mozart. The XX Hall at the Palace of the United Nations, where the Miquel Barcel dome is located, played host to the event organised by the ONUART Foundation and which saw a host of world dignitaries and people from the business community attend.

Attendees included Ban Ki-moon (secretary general of the United Nations), Dur o Barroso (former Portuguese prime minister and former president of the European Commission), Jos Luis Rodr guez Zapatero (former president of the Spanish government), Sandrine Salerno (honourary mayoress of Geneva), Michael M ller (director general of the United Nations Office in Geneva), Joachim R cker (chairman of the United Nations Human Rights Council), Zeid Raad Al Hussein (United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights), Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser (United Nations high commissioner for the Alliance among Civilisations) and Miguel ngel Moratinos (chairman of the ONUART Foundation).

The concert was broadcast in countries around the world including: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Slovakia, Spain, Estonia, France, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Poland, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Switzerland, Australia, China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, Mexico and South Africa, among others.

The concert is set to become annual event as Daniel Barenboim and the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra have committed to performing at the Concert Peace and Human Rights at the Palace of Nations for the next four years, an event that will feature performances from a world renowned tenor and soprano.
