Wavea release Flite V2

Powerful soft synth receives free update

Wavea have just launched a new and improved version of their feature-packed soft synth, kitting it out with over 200 new features that have been created based on user feedback.

Flite V2 offers a combination of FM, granular and wavetable synthesis, and also includes four multi-samplers - 2.5GB of factory samples capture classic instruments such as the Yamaha CS-80, Roland Juno-106, Oberheim OB-8, Sequential Pro-One and many more. There's a pair of multi-mode filters and three LFOs with key trigger, delay, drift skew and rate parameters, and four assignable AHDSR envelopes that can be sync'ed to a range of time divisions.

The instrument boasts a comprehensive modulation matrix, and includes an array of onboard effects that include a granular reverb designed by Sinevibes, chorus, delay and more. A set of five three-band EQs offer some built-in tonal shaping, and the instrument includes independent outputs from each of its two voice engines for some additional flexibility when it comes to mixing.

What's New? Here's a quick look at some of the standout features introduced in the latest version:

Advanced FM Engine: 60+ FM parameters, from classic tones into far stranger territory.

Sequencing: Four note/parameter sequencers, any parameter assignable to a 32-step sequencer, Euclidean functions, preset pattern modifiers and note patterns including Persian, Fibonacci and fractal moat.

MIDI Out: Flite's sequencers can drive hardware and other VSTs.

Sample Import: SoundFonts, DS and other sampler formats supported, with one-click auto-looping for complex multi-sample instruments

New Oscillators, Filter Types & FX: including a shimmering granular delay

Syncable Drift & Skew: For realistic analogue-style pitch and distortion degradation.

Drawable LFOs, overhauled macro assignments, revamped preset browser, drag-and-drop workflow.

Up to 40% lower CPU usage.

Compatibility Flite V2 is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or later, and Macs running macOS 10.13 or later. VST3 and AU plug-in versions are available. Note that there is no AAX version, so Pro Tools is not supported.
