Custom Consoles experiences highly successful CABSAT 2014 24 Mar 2014
Custom Consoles reports a highly successful CABSAT 2014. Held in Dubai Tuesday March 11 through Thursday March 13, the exhibition occupied the largest area in its 20 year history.
We have exhibited at this event for many years and 2014 was without exaggeration the best CABSAT ever for Custom Consoles, comments Sales Manager Gary Fuller. Our stand was busy with visitors every day even up to the point where we were dismantling on the Thursday evening. We talked with people from broadcast and telecommunications organisations as well as systems integrators and product distributors.
Actual sales leads were almost triple the level we have experienced at other broadcast shows, thanks in part to the economic prosperity now being experienced in the Middle East and African broadcast markets and to an excellent CABSAT stand location. Our recently introduced EditOne postproduction desk, upgraded Media Wall multi-monitor support and established Module-R desk system all attracted strong interest.
Designed for use in video edit suites and broadcast graphics areas, EditOne is an ergonomically efficient desk with three equipment pods providing a collective 9U of rack space. These form the base of a monitor shelf. An auxiliary equipment pedestal with an additional 11U of rack space and an integral worktop can also be supplied. Front and rear corners of the EditOne desk and the auxiliary pedestal are curved, eliminating any possibility of collision with sharp protrusions and contributing to the ultra-modern styling. All furniture in the EditOne range can be shipped within days of order in compact flat-pack form for easy onsite assembly.
Media Wall is a robust and efficient multiscreen mounting system. The latest version features a series of enhancements including narrower front-to-back depth, reduced from 600 to 500 millimetres. Like its predecessor, the new Media Wall is fully self-supporting and retains the option of adding coupling brackets directly to the studio wall. Freely adjustable horizontal and vertical screen spacing allows individual display screens to be positioned so that their edges meet exactly. Cable management within Media Wall is now along ducts with finger-trunking slots.
Custom Consoles' Module-R product range enables customers to specify robust, efficient and attractive control-room desks from a selection of standard interlocking elements. These include single-bay, dual-bay and triple-bay desk sections with front or rear access, work surfaces in matching widths, corner desk sections in 90 degree, 45 degree or 30 degree angles with integral worktops, a slide-out keyboard drawer, equipment pods with 3U, 6U or 8U capacity, a 19 inch storage pedestal and 27U equipment bay.
Founded in 1996, Custom Consoles Ltd (www.customconsoles.co.uk) is an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer of project-specific and modular broadcast, process-control and security furniture. The product range includes motorised, manually-adjustable and fixed-height units plus fan-cooled sound-insulated equipment housings. Custom Consoles operates from a 1,200 square metre UK-based production facility equipped with 3D computer-aided-design and computer-controlled cutting machinery. This provides the dual benefits of precise quality control and prompt delivery times, typically 21 days from receipt of order. The companys clients include broadcasters, production and post-production studios, governmental and corporate organisations in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australasia.
