iZotope introduce Photon

New AI-powered denoise & stem separation tool announced

iZotope have just released a new GPU-powered tool that pairs stem separation with a powerful selection of restoration processes. Developed in collaboration with new owners Boris FX, Photon is capable of splitting music into four stems, separating drum tracks into individual elements, isolating vocals, identifying and separating multiple speakers in dialogue recordings, and more!

Available as a standalone application and ARA plug-in, Photon has been built around 12 custom-trained machine-learning models, all of which run locally on the user's GPU. Its stem-separation tools are capable of splitting a full music mix into four components, while drum tracks can be divided into five: kick, snare, hi-hat, toms and cymbals.

As for vocals and dialogue, the software can identify and separate up to six speakers in a single recording, split music and vocals into individual stems or divide a TV/film mix into four groups: dialogue, music, sound effects and everything else. The separation is then complemented by a selection of restoration tools that make it possible to clean up dialogue and vocal recordings, tackling common issues such as excessive reverb, wind and traffic noise.

Demix

Music - 4 Stems Ultra: New four-stem high-quality stem-separation model for music.

Drums - 5 Stems: Adjust the kick, snare, hi-hat, toms and cymbals.

Voice Separator: Split up to six speakers from one audio file into individual stems.

Voice - 2 Stems: Voice and music, for a quick instrumental or acapella.

Cinema - 4 Stems: Split a video or audio file into dialogue, music, sound effects and everything else.

Denoise

Voice Restore: enhances speech and handles noise, levels, mic tone and reverb.

Indoor / Indoor Noisy: Tames reverb and room noise, delivering production-ready dialogue, fast.

Outdoor / Outdoor Traffic / Outdoor Wind: Optimised models for traffic, urban noise and heavy wind.

ARA Plug-in: Tweak stems or fix background noise right in your DAW. Run several models together and switch between them without waiting.

Local GPU Processing: Large, custom-trained models run locally on your GPU for fast, private processing without uploads.

Preview From Anywhere: Start processing at any point in the clip and hear results in seconds. Very helpful for long files.

Model Manager: Download new and updated models without needing to reinstall.

Flexible Exports: Deliver in WAV, FLAC, MP3 or video same-as-source with the original video stream kept.

Compatibility Photon is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 14 and later. The software is GPU-accelerated, and Mac users require an M1 chip or later - Intel-based Macs are not supported - while PC users will need a GPU with at least 4GB of VRAM.

Pricing & Availability Photon is available now, and is being offered at an introductory price of $259£246.75 until 7 December 2026, when it will increase to its full cost of $349£329.
