Monumental Sports Network Rolls Out Monumental+ App Enhancements

Monumental Sports Network (MNMT), the local media rights holder for the NHL's Washington Capitals, NBA's Washington Wizards and WNBA's Washington Mystics, has announced updates to its Monumental (M ) streaming app. MNMT says the changes were shaped by fan and subscriber feedback and give viewers more control over how they watch and discover programming. M carries more than 500 live games annually, plus original content and DMV sports coverage.

New features:

Advanced Play Control: join a live broadcast, resume where you left off or start from the beginning, including on the 24/7 live stream

Spoiler Control: hide scores, game clocks and standings while navigating the app

Monumental Moments: a mobile-first vertical video feed with highlights, behind-the-scenes access and player interviews across the Capitals, Wizards, Mystics, Capital City Go-Go and DMV sports

Enhanced Content Discovery: improved search, curated collections, trending content and visual badges

Podcast Hub: a central home for MNMT's audio and video podcasts, including Off the Bench, The Hockey Lifers, Beltway Football, Caps Rink Report and District of Basketball

Other additions include an AI-powered Fan Assistant, redesigned Scores, Schedules & Standings sections, a unified cross-league experience and more flexible mobile payment options.

MNMT cites these platform results: 100% digital uptime since the start of the 2026-27 preseason, a 99% crash-free rate across devices, a 90% content discoverability rating based on SEO indexing, and an approximately 67% year-over-year drop in subscribers contacting customer support.

MNMT reports the following viewership for the start of the 2026-27 season:

Wizards: The Oct. 21 season opener vs. Milwaukee was the most-streamed Wizards game ever on M and the most-watched Wizards game on linear TV since at least 2022-23. Linear viewership rose 285% from last season's opener (P2 ).

Capitals: Streaming viewership on M is up 48% year over year through the first nine games. Linear viewership is up 83% year over year over the same span (P25-54).

M is available through Antietam, Astound, Cox, DIRECTV, DAZN (new), Fios, Lumos, Mediacom, Nelson, Optimum, Shentel, Spectrum and Xfinity, and on Android, Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV, iOS, LG, Prime Video (new), Roku, Vizio, X1 and Xfinity Xumo. Fans can use a TV provider or TV Everywhere login, or an M subscription.

MNMT was named Sports Media Platform of the Year at the Cynopsis Sports Media Awards in June and won a record 14 Capital Emmy Awards, including Overall Excellence and Sports Excellence. That brings its total to 40 Capital Emmys since Monumental Sports & Entertainment acquired the network in 2022.
