Largest of the desks is a 4 metre wide three-operator in-line main production with an inset Ross vision switcher panel at mid-left, a centrally positioned Soundcraft audio mixer and a Strand lighting control console on the right hand side.

Three Custom Consoles Module-R control desks plus a MediaWall monitor support have been chosen for an expanded studio control room at one of Europes largest financial trading houses. The studio and its supporting technical facilities are used to create news and comment for broadcasters around the globe.

Module-R has been deployed in many highly successful control room installations over the years, says Custom Consoles Sales Manager Gary Fuller. Being inherently modular, it forms a basis from which control room furniture can be created in any required combination, with integral cable ducting and easy access to installed equipment. MediaWall provides an equally efficient basis for configuring robust and space-efficient monitor displays. These can be free-standing or, as in this case, alongside a wall.

Space is also provided for two desktop keyboards. The desk includes eight sloping desktop equipment bays providing a total 32U of rack space. Five Ergotron user-adjustable monitor support arms are fitted along the rear left and centre desk positions. Immediately in front of this desk is a 5 metre wide twin-frame MediaWall supporting a horizontal row of four 50 inch flat-panel monitors.

To the right of the main production desk in the control room is a single-operator L-shaped auxiliary production desk with an inset Ross vision switcher panel and Soundcraft audio mixer plus space for a two computer keyboards. This desk incorporates three 6U high equipment sloping desktop equipment bays and an Ergotron monitor support arm.

The third desk is a one metre wide single-operator station with two 3U high sloping equipment bays. This is located in a central position slightly behind the main and auxiliary production desks.
