Investment of 00 billion yuan to sustain Meishan Speed

Since its launch one month ago, Ningbo International Marine Ecological Sci-tech Town is having an investment boom. A number of projects have settled in, such as Geely F2 Autodrome, Kangda Medical Industrial Park, Phase-1 Project of Meishan Marine Financial Town, container terminals No.6-12, clearance of the first delivery of cross-border e-commerce. Here large projects are signed to settle in each week and throngs of businesspeople are coming in. Up to now, 57 large projects with total investments reaching 100 billion yuan have made home in the Town .

The Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government of Ningbo proposed to establish the Town in April 2015, which, together with the Ningbo New Material Sci-tech Town shall function as the two pivotal platforms and carriers for the transformation and upgrading of Ningbo economy and technical innovation system. A leader of Beilun District says that it is necessary for Beilun port to establish a new development platform to undertake the mission as the strategic economic rim with the Ningbo Port as the core. The Town shall serve as a new platform, which will become the 3rd heated spot for investment in Meishan, following the National Bonded Port and the provincial-level Logistics Industry Agglomeration Area.

For seven months, Meishan has kept to high-end, service-oriented and ecological development orientation and sped up the construction of a large number of projects for more than 7 months. At the end of September, the Town was unveiled officially. On that day, 6 major projects including Phase-1 Project of Meishan Marine Financial Town began construction. As one of the 37 characteristic towns in the first batch at the provincial level, Meishan is the only one featuring marine finance. Now, Meishan has taken in capital of the highest density and has seen the fastest development in Zhejiang. So far, it has brought in 2,468 financial enterprises with registered capital 33.29 billion yuan.

The marine intelligent equipment industry in the Town has increasingly agglomerated. Meishan Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement concerning automotive electronics project with the Minth Group in early November. According to the agreement, the Minth Group is to contribute 1 billion yuan to merge and acquire leading electronic enterprises home and abroad. The new project committed to creating Minth intelligent vehicle electronic park is to locate at Meishan Island. Investments are attracted from related industries, such as integrated circuit, life and health industry, medical apparatus and instruments which will help extend the industry chain and gain maximum economic benefits.

Unlike the previous industrial agglomeration area, the Town places more emphasis on technology, culture, education, etc. Currently, the NBU Meishan Marine Science Park has seen its master plan completed and the construction is to begin in December. Recently, Beilun District and Meishan Town have signed a comprehensive framework agreement with Hohai University to found Meishan Graduate School by taking advantage of the marine discipline development and the science technology innovation platform of Hohai University. The advertising trade center project invested by Elephant Advertising and China Advertising Association with total investment of 3 billion yuan is officially launched. It is estimated that 300 enterprises will have come for incubation by 2017 with an annual turnover of over 10 billion yuan. With the launch of the heavyweight project, the weak points in the culture and education sector of Meishan is to be offset.

Under the guidance of the five development philosophy of innovation, coordination, green, opening and sharing, Meishan will achieve the integration development among the port industry, city and people in the next five years, said the director of the Town.
