Thales will be participating in DIMDEX 2014, the 4th Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition, which takes place in Qatar from 25 to 27 March. Thales has been operating in Qatar for over 30 years and is a long-standing partner of the Qatar Armed Forces.

At DIMDEX 2014, Thales will showcase its activities in:

Underwater warfare - the Thales stand will showcase our capabilities as a developer and provider of acoustic systems for anti-submarine missions and mine countermeasures. Thales's solutions are suitable for all types of platforms: submarines, surface combatants, helicopters, maritime patrol aircraft and unmanned naval systems. The FLASH dipping sonar for helicopters, the CAPTAS-2 active low-frequency towed-array sonar for surface ships and the T-SAS towed synthetic aperture sonar for mine detection will be presented on the Thales stand.

With the largest portfolio of naval sensors worldwide, Thaless offering of above water solutions ranges from surveillance, command and combat systems to in-service support for weapon systems. At DIMDEX, Thales will exhibit the Artemis passive infrared surveillance system, the Tacticos combat management system, the I-Mast integrated topside concept, which is based on a single mast structure housing all the main radars, sensors and antennas of a naval vessel, and the Herakles multifunction radar, which provides an effective air surveillance and self-defence capability for frigates and other warships.

In maritime surveillance systems, Thales offers a comprehensive range of flexible solutions for the effective monitoring of maritime safety, security and surveillance activities. Products and systems on show include the Coast Watcher 100 long-range coastal surveillance radar.

In naval communications, Thales supports the transformation of naval forces by delivering systems and solutions that enable users to acquire, exploit and exchange the information needed to act decisively. With these solutions, Thales offers naval forces the interoperability they need with land, air, allied and NATO forces. A range of communication solutions for naval forces will be exhibited at the Thales stand, including the Aquilon fully integrated communication system with SATCOM capability as well as the Altesse passive communication Electronic Support Measures and COMINT (communications intelligence) solution.

Thales has been a supplier of electronic warfare systems for more than 50 years and is at the forefront of electronic warfare technologies for land, airborne and naval platforms. At DIMDEX, Thales will showcase several systems tailored to the exact requirements of users in terms of mission profiles and operational environments, including the Compact Airborne Threat Surveyor (CATS), the MWS 20 Missile Warning System and the Vigile LW latest-generation Radar Electronic Support Measures (ESM) system.

C4I for maritime defence and security: the closer maritime cooperation and coordination of naval players, coastal surveillance and the security of civil operators are major challenges for authorities today. Operations to combat terrorism, piracy and other illegal activities call for Collaborative C4I systems with high levels of flexibility and versatility. The Comm@nder Joint and Comm@nder Maritime C4I systems from Thales will be on display.

Thaless technologies in combat aircraft, air surveillance and advanced air defence will also be presented on the stand.
