Portuguese TV Networks keep the vote on Elections CG In the past 4th of October, wTVision provided on-air graphics solutions for three different clients: RTP (RTP1, RTP3, RTP Madeira and RTP A ores), TVI and Porto Canal, during the Portuguese General Election.

In this electoral evening, several solutions and technologies were used in order to transform the elections coverage into a captivating and dynamic show. Elections CG was the software in the center of all operations, ensuring the integration between the data and the graphics. For Porto Canal, wTVision developed a complete graphics package for the projections and results and one operator made the graphics coverage during this special event.

RTP and TVI elected as key point of this production, the interactivity. In both channels, the presenters had on their hands, the possibility (through a tablet) to choose the graphic with more impact in each moment of the program. They could also view all the updated information to make decisions based on live data coming in, in real-time. Results were shown to the audiences using augmented reality graphics (using tracked cranes and tracked fixed cameras), permanent overlay graphics and tickers with candidates' quotes. The results were being imported, in real-time, from the official data provider in Portugal. This data was made available to Elections CG as well as to a live Commentator web application, used by commentators and presenters during the election night.

wTVision designers created the graphics branding for TVI and Porto Canal and the augmented reality graphics for RTP.
