Charity cookie fair organized jointly by the sustainability Media Club and Telekom, on the International Volunteer Day
More than 100 cookie versions prepared by 1,000 volunteers at 15 locations, all around Hungary
Telekom and the members of the Sustainability Media Club organized a charity cookie fair on December 5, 2016 - the International Volunteer Day
Participants of the charity fair included 15 Telekom corporate sites in Hungary, almost 1,000 volunteering associates of the company, as well as the members of the Sustainability Media Club.
The amount gained from selling the home-made cookies is offered for supporting the Autistic Art Foundation, the strategic NGO partner of Telekom.
Telekom and the members of the Sustainability Media Club (FMK) organized a charity cookie fair on December 5, 2016 - the International Volunteer Day - under the name of Giving is Good! Cookie Action. In the frame of the action volunteering associates of the company and members of FMK offered their home-made cookies for sale at 15 locations, the corporate sites of Telekom, all around Hungary. Amounts offered for the cookies and collected in honesty boxes this year will be used for supporting the art therapy program of theAutistic Art Foundation.
Beside the almost 1,000 volunteering associates of Telekom and the members of the Sustainability Media Club, well-known person like singer-actor Pusk s Peti and actress personally participated in the charity action, appearing behind the tables full of cookies.
Sustainability is close to our heart, therefore the company pays highlighted attention to those living with deficiencies and to our socially responsible approach towards them - said Christopher Mattheisen, chief executive officer of the company. Our associates initiated that around year end, as the holiday season approaches we help the social groups in need, in the frame of a corporate level initiative. This is why six years ago - connected to the International Volunteer Day - we launched the Giving is Good! Cookie Action, benefitting organizations that grant their support to overcome social problems, that both the company Sustainability Media Club attach special importance to. This way in the past years we helped a kindergarten maintained for ill-fated families, granted support to maintaining workplaces for young people living with deficiencies, to children living in the SOS Children Villages as well as the T bitha Child Hospice Houses. In 2016 - similarly to last year - in the frame of a strategic partnership we assist the residential homes supported by the Autistic Art Foundation, and their art therapy program - the chief executive officer added.
The 2016 cookie action bear the special feature that a volunteering Telekom associate - Fischer Tam s assisted by his 11 colleagues- also built the model of the new Telekom headquarters currently under construction made of ginger bread, within the present Telekom headquarters in Budapest. The model will be exhibited in B lna, Budapest from 21 December 2016 till 29 January 2017.
Collection of donations by sending e-postcards or sharing photos on Instagram
Additional to the cookie fair, Telekom also offers further possibilities to join the charity donation action, wishing to support the art therapy program of autistic young people.
Food stylist and gastro photographer Petrovics Gy rgy and Szendeff L rinc take photos about the cookies and exhibit them in the Krisztina K r t headquarters of Telekom in Budapest, and later electronic postcards will be made of these photos. Anybody can send these e-cards to the loved ones or business partners on site telekom.hu/karacsony between December 14-24, 2016. Telekom donates HUF 100 to Autistic Art Foundation, upon sending each postcard.
Participation is also possible in the charity action between December 1-27 by sharing a photo about cookies and #s titadok on Instagram. Telekom increases the donation amount to Autistic Art Foundation by HUF 100 after each photo shared.
