Implementation of the Development Programme of the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus on the services sector development 02.11.2015

Within the framework of the implementation of the Development Programme of the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belaruson the services sector development in 2015the results of the work for January-September 2015 are the following:

The number of subscribers of fixed broadband Internet access increased by 140,6 thousand and as of October 01, 2015 equaled 2,2 million;

The number of subscribers of interactive television ZALA (IPTV) increased by 119,7 thousand and amounted to 1,1 million;

The number of subscribers of Internet television ZALA (OTT) increased by 8,2 thousand and amounted to 8,2 thousand;

The width of the external Internet access channel of RUE Beltelecom equaled 610 Gbps;

The number of the subscribers connected under GPON technology increased by 218,0 thousand and amounted to 507,4 thousand;

The number of the subscribers connected to IMS platform increased by 299,4 thousand and exceeded 1,1 million.

Cellular mobile telecommunications covers 98,0 percent of the territory of the republic with 99,9 percent of the population of the country.The total number of subscribers of cellular mobile telecommunications as of October 1, 2015 amounted to more than 11,4 million. Today 3G cellular mobile telecommunications is available on 53 percent of the territorywith 96 percent of the population of the country.

The coverage of the population with terrestrial digital television broadcasting of DVB-T standard increased from 98,1 percent till 99,41 percent.

As of October 01, 2015 the subscriber base of commercial terrestrial digital broadcasting equaled 93,0 thousand subscribers.
