Panasonic centralises web servers and integrates 61 regional domains into panasonic.com

TOKYO - March 14, 2014 - Akamai Technologies GK (Minato-ku, Tokyo; Country Manager: Shinji Tokunaga; Akamai), a leading provider of cloud services for delivering, optimising and securing online content and business applications, today announced that Panasonic Corporation (Kadoma-shi, Osaka; President and Director: Kazuhiro Tsuga; Panasonic) has officially selected Akamais Web Experience Solutions to enable them to provide consistency in content creation and delivery across all their 70 product Web sites spanning 61 regions worldwide.

Panasonic was founded in 1918 and has grown to be one of the top Japanese electronics manufacturers in the world. Since the company focuses on different products in each region and employs different designs and operations in countries based on local marketing approaches, the local Web sites have traditionally had different content configurations and domains. This has prevented the company from having a unified strategy around delivering information simultaneously across the globe when it was required.
