Panasonic centralises web servers and integrates 61 regional domains into panasonic.com
TOKYO - March 14, 2014 - Akamai Technologies GK (Minato-ku, Tokyo; Country Manager: Shinji Tokunaga; Akamai), a leading provider of cloud services for delivering, optimising and securing online content and business applications, today announced that Panasonic Corporation (Kadoma-shi, Osaka; President and Director: Kazuhiro Tsuga; Panasonic) has officially selected Akamais Web Experience Solutions to enable them to provide consistency in content creation and delivery across all their 70 product Web sites spanning 61 regions worldwide.
Panasonic was founded in 1918 and has grown to be one of the top Japanese electronics manufacturers in the world. Since the company focuses on different products in each region and employs different designs and operations in countries based on local marketing approaches, the local Web sites have traditionally had different content configurations and domains. This has prevented the company from having a unified strategy around delivering information simultaneously across the globe when it was required.
Akamais Web Experience solutions enable Panasonic to put our Web sites on a unified strategy and centralise content creation and managing platforms. This will lead to better content quality and improvement in the way we do business. As a result, our customers will be satisfied and use our products more, said Masamichi Yamamoto, Group Manager, Digital Marketing Innovation G, AVC Networks Company, who leads Global Consumer Marketing launched in 2012
Akamais Web Experience Solutions are designed to allow its customer to provide fast, personalised Web experiences and manage complex issues such as peak demand, mobile devices and data collection. Built on the Akamai Intelligent Platform , a globally-distributed cloud platform, Akamai Web Experience Solutions provide end-users with optimal Web experiences.
Without Akamai, it is impossible to do the process of migrating 70 Web sites across the world, said Yamamoto, mentioning the importance of Akamai in the global site integration project.
