NAB 06: IHSE USA To Demo KVM, Show Off Latest Products

As a leading provider of KVM solutions, IHSE will be at this year's NAB with several new products. The company invites you to stop by and get a hands-on demonstration of how KVM can interact with any multi-source workflow environment.

New Products Include:

Draco Tera Compact Matrix Switch

IHSE today announces the release of new Draco tera compact KVM matrix switches models. In addition to the ability to provide instant switching of HD and 4K signals, these devices include parallel I/O ports for the simultaneous routing of USB 3.0 and 3G-SDI signals.

The highly successful Draco tera compact KVM matrix switch series, with up to 80 user-configurable I/O ports is widely used to switch digital signals from computers giving users full access to remote computers from their own workstations. The new UNI range is capable of simultaneously switching up to 32 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 and 3G-SDI signal streams alongside the computer signals.

Enno Littmann, Managing Director of IHSE says: Nowadays, more-and-more applications are used that output 3G-SDI streams, such as video editing programs, that require both control and preview images to be handled together. There is also a marked increase in the use of high-speed USB 3.0 data interfaces that also need to be switched with the computer video and keyboard/mouse signals. The UNI switches offer a single switch solution for all types of signals, with all the benefits and features of our established tera range, and can be deployed over fiber or copper connections to meet individual installation requirements.

Hybrid versions of the Draco tera compact are available with 48 Cat X ports and 16 or 32 UNI ports. IHSE also provides universal port models with just 8, 16, 32 and 48 UNI ports for USB 3.0 and 3G-SDI.

Matrix Grid Board

IHSE announces the release of the Matrix Grid board to simplify interconnection between Draco tera enterprise KVM matrix switches. The new technology reduces cost and wiring effort without any reduction in performance.

KVM matrix systems enable the transmission of signals and switching between computers and remote consoles. For larger or decentralized installations, several matrices can be connected together using Matrix Grid to form a decentralized, virtual super-matrix. That allows users to access computers anywhere in the grid from their own workstation console in real time.

The new dual-port Matrix Grid board replaces the standard I/O board previously used for matrix interconnection and dramatically reduces cabling required between them. With the new board, eight grid lines that previously required eight separate duplex fibers, are established using a single duplex fiber connection.

Compared to a CWDM solution, the conventional method of reducing the number of fibers, the Matrix Grid board saves considerable cost. The plug-and-play capability of the Matrix Grid board simplifies installation, and allows separation of matrix locations to a distance up to 10 km and beyond, depending upon the type of SFP being used, making it ideal for installations in large corporate sites.
