Viaccess-Orca Executive to Speak On Virtual Reality at Connected TV World Summit 09 March 2016
PARIS March 9, 2016 Viaccess-Orca, a global leader in the protection and enhancement of content services, today announced that its Executive Vice President of Innovation, Alain Nochimowski, will participate in a workshop panel session during the Connected TV World Summit 2016 in London.
THE NEWS: Alain Nochimowski will offer insights on "VR, AR: Capturing and Viewing a Frameless View of the World." Chaired by Paul Bristow, founder and CEO of Clear Thinking, the workshop will explore how technology devised by the gaming industry could enhance the television experience and alter visual storytelling.
WHEN: The workshop will be held on March 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Alain s session is scheduled at 12:05 p.m.
WHERE: Connected TV World Summit 2016, Breakout Theatre at Kings Place, London.
WHY: The television viewing experience is transforming and becoming increasingly immersive and interactive by adapting the latest in multiscreen and virtual reality technologies. If pay-TV operators want to be a part of this new era in personal digital entertainment, they must be aware of strategies to overcome production challenges, set up efficient workflows, and be able to enhance their programming with virtual reality technology.
WHAT: The panel will provide an overview of the production challenges of capturing content in 360 degrees, types of equipment needed, and available viewing options for consumers. The panel will also discuss how virtual reality is being used to enhance news, sport, entertainment, natural history, and arts programming; touching on the latest innovations that support a fully virtual experience. In addition, the session will include a real-world demonstration of virtual reality content, explaining how it was captured, edited, and made available to viewers as well as what the audience reaction has been.
