Jiangdong District Owns Provincial Famous Trademarks

April 26, 2016 is the 16th World Intellectual Property Day. Recently, Jiangdong District has carried out such activities as promotion and training for brands and investigation of building brands in service areas to enhance the public's consciousness of intellectual property and build legal environment and cultural atmosphere for knowledge innovation and intellectual property protection.

In recent years, based on starred brands building and focusing on staff in guiding office and key enterprises, Jiamgdong district has organized training activities about Basic Knowledge for Brand Strategy Implementation, Trademark Act, Practice of Trademark Registration and Madrid International Trademark Registration System to promote enterprises' protection consciousness and management level of trademark and their go out strategy. At the same time, Jiangdong district investigates some provincial famous trademark companies and municipal well-known trademark companies, answers their questions about how to use and manage trademark and issues some questionnaires to learn enterprises' needs. So far, totally 7 street-brand guiding offices have reached starred level, including one for three-star, two for two-star and one for four-star.

Jiangdong district pays attention to guiding service as well as regulatory protection. It enhances the investigation and punishment for the violations of laws and regulations concerning trademark use. Since 2016, 11 cases of advertising concerning well-known trademark and 2 cases involving trademark foreign-related infringement have been investigated and treated, with the fined or confiscated money reaching165, 000 yuan, which effectively regulated enterprises' usage and management of trademark.

To construct a sound market environment for the protection of exclusive right to use a registered trademark, Jiangdong district also implements various intellectual property propaganda activities and hangs promotional banners in large-scale shopping malls, supermarkets and markets to effectively avoid violations of intellectual property right.
