VideoFlow is announcing an important addition to its range of Digital Video Protection (DVP) solutions for delivering live, high quality video (SD, HD and above) over standard Internet connections.
The new DVP1000 handles up to 200 streams simultaneously reaching an unprecedented bit rate of 800 Mbps - where the existing DVP10 handles 3 and the DVP100 handles 20. This means that much larger, multi-point networks can be created using VideoFlows technology which enables live content to be delivered over the Internet with no packet lost and nullifies the jitter caused by transiting the Internet. This next generation solution provides broadcasters, teleports and operators a highly advanced, low cost solution for commercial quality, live video streams over consumer Internet connections thereby eliminating the need for expensive connections costing thousands of dollars a month. VideoFlows products offer one time capital costs, with very rapid ROIs, in place of never ending and ever increasing operational costs.
Available in two versions, the DVP1000 Protector, which stores the packets until it is certain that they have been correctly received, and the DVP1000 Sentinel which monitors the health of the video stream by watching for packet loss and requests packets to be resent from the Protectors cache only if required.
Mrs. Ronit Kalujny, VideoFlows CEO, explained, All DVP products can be used in a mix and match manner. For example, several DVP100 Protectors can feed into one DVP1000 to gather content from many different locations. Similarly, one DVP1000 Protector can distribute content to numerous DVP10 or DVP100 Sentinels. The DVP1000 is designed to meet our customers need to create more sophisticated, large network configurations and further opens up the Internet for robust, low cost, content transportation.
Adi Rozenberg, VideoFlows CTO, stated, Once customers see how rock solid our live video and audio streams are going over the standard Internet in the real world, they immediately realize that using VideoFlows patent pending technology they achieve exceptional quality coupled with considerable savings unlike existing solutions. The DVP1000 enables the creation of huge networks and the flexibility to adjust them as needs change. In addition all DVP products are capable of working with internet connections as slow as 200Kb/s or as fast as 800Mbps and yet still deliver the desired high quality. Our technology ensures that any delays in live content are never more than two seconds at the very most which is the maximum tolerated for true live broadcasts.
Traditionally, premium live video channels require a pair of leased lines so that there is always a backup in case the first one fails. Although this ensures a 24x7 service, it is very costly. Industry reports show that Service Level Agreements that guarantee bitrate and bandwidth along with limiting packet loss are incredibly expensive. Those VideoFlow customers that start by using VideoFlow products for backup and the capital cost savings, quickly realize that they can further reduce costs by using the VideoFlow solution as their primary means of delivery. This generally occurs after running the VideoFlow solution in parallel with their existing primary offering and coming to the realization that the VideoFlow solution provides comparable reliability and quality. By using a VideoFlow solution, customers can increase the profitability of the revenue streams from premium coverage of live events like sports, concerts and news as well as adding new, inexpensive, revenue-generating coverage.
Video delivery over the internet for Content Delivery Networks, such as Netflix or YouTube, works by sending files. Live video broadcast, conversely, are sent as a continuous bit stream, which the Internet was never designed to handle, resulting in artefacts caused by jitter, and packet loss. More than a couple of seconds of latency is unacceptable by customers expecting to enjoy the excitement of live events like sport as they happen. VideoFlow is the solution for the next evolution for Content Delivery Networks (CDN) by providing broadcasters a true Live Content Delivery Network (LCDN).

VideoFlow technology
Live video broadcast are sent as a continuous bit stream, which the Internet was never designed to handle, resulting in artefacts caused by jitter, and packet loss. More than a couple of seconds of latency is unacceptable by customers expecting to enjoy the excitement of live events like sport as they happen. VideoFlows patent pending technology opens the Internet for delivering content by ensuring that no packet is lost and nullifying the jitter caused by transiting the Internet. By doing so, it affords broadcasters, teleports and operators the opportunity to use a highly advanced, low cost solution for live, high quality video streams in place of existing, expensive solutions.
The DVP comes as a Plug and Play pair - a Protector, which stores the packets until it is certain that they have been correctly received, and a Sentinel which monitors the health of the video stream by watching for packet loss and requests packets to be resent from the Protectors cache only if required. This is ensured by VideoFlows patents, which cover techniques to minimize the number of packets that have to be resent. VideoFlows solution is highly flexible working with internet connections as slow as 200Kb/s or as fast as 800Mbps yet delivering the desired high quality. VideoFlows patents also covers techniques to reduce bandwidth overhead to the minimum possible and to keep any delays at less than the two seconds, which is the maximum tolerated for true live broadcasts. VideoFlows DVP family of products enables the reduction of bandwidth requirements cutting operational costs compared to
