Globo launches series Above Justice and Noing Remains the Same at NATPE 07

The international catalog also includes psychological thriller Supermax,' directed by Argentine filmmaker Daniel Burman

Globo's preparations for NATPE 2017 have already begun. During the event, which will take place on January 17-19, in Miami, the Brazilian network will launch a new catalog with previously unreleased productions for the international market. In addition to its well-known telenovelas, Globo will also launch series Above Justice' which caused buzz in the market after its special presentation during MIPCancun; Nothing Remains the Same'; and Supermax.' In a few episodes, these works shine with the high-quality storylines and production for which Globo is known worldwide.

Above Justice' invites viewers to reflect upon human issues and moral values, opening with the arrest of four people of different origins and backgrounds in 2009, in Recife, northeastern Brazil. The story than fast forwards seven years, as the characters are released from prison after doing their time, and get ready to go back to their lives. The unique narrative reveals new facets of the kaleidoscope of all four characters, by moving back and forth in time and presenting the different points of view that led them to take extreme and questionable actions.

While it aired, it had a daily reach of approximately 41 million viewers, and a total reach of approximately 134 million viewers. Its star-studded cast includes Adriana Esteves and Cau Reymond (both from Brazil Avenue'), as well as Leandra Leal and Marina Ruy Barbosa (both from Empire'), among many others.

With 16 chapters, the series entices audiences to question what is fair, acceptable, justifiable, and even ethical in extreme situations. Its airing format in Brazil was beyond anything audiences had ever seen. Each day of the week was dedicated to one of the four protagonists. Written by Manuela Dias ( Dangerous Liaisons') and directed by Jos Luiz Villamarim ( Brazil Avenue'), Above Justice' featured an unprecedented digital action: its first four episodes were made available on Globo Play Globo's video on demand platform before its premiere on network TV. The strategy designed to bring audiences closer was maintained while the series aired, and Globo Play subscribers had early access to each daily episode. That allowed Above Justice' to reach more than 3 million unique users, and more than 25 million video viewers.

On the other side, ravishing love, power, intrigue, passion, jealousy, and disappointments are the hallmarks of Nothing Remains the Same.' In 10 episodes, the miniseries tells the love story lived by Saulo (Murilo Ben cio, Brazil Avenue') and Ver nica (Debora Falabella, Brazil Avenue'), with the implementation of the first TV network in Brazil as a backdrop. In the series, Saulo is a visionary and passionate man, who dreams of creating the first television network alongside Ver nica, who aspires to be a famous actress. Set in the mid-1950's, the series features the drama and conflicts experienced by the couple, as well as the revolution and innovation that marked the early days of television as we know it today.

The costumes inspired by remarkable figures of the period, along with the sets, photography, lighting, and music production, help to set the tone. Like Above Justice,' the series is directed by Jos Luiz Villamarim and have a cast with prominent actors, such as Bruna Marquezine ( Helena's Shadow'), Daniel Oliveira and C ssia Kis ( The Party'), and Osmar Prado ( Doomed').

NATPE 2017 will also mark the official launch of Supermax,' Globo's first original production for the Iberian American audience entirely in Spanish. Shot at Globo's Studios in Rio de Janeiro, and including scenes shot in the Salinas Grandes in the province of Jujuy (Argentina), the series is a psychological thriller that, in fiction, brings participants to a reality show inside a maximum security prison. There, they discover that they have one thing in common: In addition to the desire to win the prize, they all have pasts tainted by crimes committed by each of them. The participants must deal with their own ghosts and fears, in addition to the mysteries surrounding the location.

With a mix of drama, suspense, and adventure, Supermax' was directed by the Argentine filmmaker Daniel Burman and co-produced by Oficina Burman, TV Mediaset (Spain), Azteca (Mexico), TVP (Argentina), and with Teledoce (Uruguay) as a strategic partner. The cast includes actors from several countries, such as Brazil, Uruguay, Cuba, Argentina, Spain, and Mexico.

Globo will be located in the Tr sor Tower, suite 1912, during Natpe, which will be held from January 17th until 19th. The Brazilian company that produce, distribute and exhibit multigenre content around the world to many platforms, will offer its traditional Screening Breakfast on the morning of the 17th (from 8:00 to 10:00 AM, in the Versailles Tower, at the Glimmer Ballroom), where it will launch its new catalog of unreleased titles.
