Picturepark Supports India s KALPAS Relief Aociation

Aarau, Switzerland - 30 March 2016 - Digital asset management software maker Picturepark has announced that it has provided financial support to India's KALPAS relief association. The support is intended to help KALPAS operate its hospitals, schools and other humanitarian activities across India.

We reinvest the majority of our profits into our business, explained Picturepark CEO, Ramon Forster. But social responsibility is in our DNA, so it's not uncommon for us to make donations to organizations we feel are worthwhile, efficiently run and trustworthy.

The DNA Forster speaks of comes from Picturepark company founders, Bruno Jehle and Matina H mmerli, who have been advocates and relief volunteers for some of India's most impoverished regions for more than 30 years. The two founded KALPAS in 2009 as a means to fund and support trusts established to provide medical, educational and social assistance to residents of the affected regions.

Among the primary goals for KALPAS was that all donations would go directly to relief services. According to H mmerli, the association's president, that goal has been met.

All fundraising is done entirely by volunteers. One hundred percent of every Swiss franc, euro or dollar we collect goes directly to the projects, she said.

KALPAS services originally focused on providing treatment for leprosy and AIDS, but the focus soon expanded.

We knew it was ultimately just as important to focus on the underlying issues that lead to the illness and poverty, H mmerli explained.

KALPAS today operates four hospitals, schools for more than 1,200 children, and it provides relief services, medicine and education across more than 150 Indian villages.
